CHASÏŃG SÛŃŠËTS

Chasing sunsets with my boo thang/ little sister this last Sunday. We made our way through La Jolla, turned right then left and somehow found our way to a cross on top of a hill, also known at Mt. Soledad according to the sign and every tourist there. We sprinted to the top as the sun cascaded behind the waves and I'm glad we did because it was by far  the most amazing view of the coast San Diego has yet to offer.

As the right and left were lined with an endless number of beaches, straight ahead was one those vibrant tranquil sunsets that just didn't seem real. It was the first day the clocks moved forward and the real Celeste summer felt aliveee.

As all this beaut was in front of me I couldn't help but look out to the waves crashing and realize this "vacation destination" is right now called home for me. As a nor cal native, living in a small bubble inland from the beach, I never thought my home would on the coast. In fact, I thought it'd be a desert for a while. UA in Tucson almost stole my heart but I was redirected to a place that has put me on a journey that I would have not traveled otherwise. Everything happens for a reason and why that might be one of the most dismissive aphorisms around, it's true.

I would so not be in these orange sandals, handmade anklets from traveling abroad in Greece, and overlooking the pacific beach coast with my best friend since age 14 if certain choices hadn't been made.

Blessed to say the least.

xx
