Dress representing your native California-ness....say what? I was asked to put together my spring attire as a California native and before this out of the blue question it never really dawned on the fact that my wardrobe is straight so-not east coast. In fact, aside from my beanie obsession, my closet could no way handle the cold of New York or anywhere around there. So, what constitutes that so-called West Coast vibe? This challenge put that question to the test...and I had a whole 20 minutes to figure it out.
1. A Sun hat, because we are so famously known for the sun always being out (huge myth btw), but fortunately we can get away with sunnies and straw on our heads 3/4 of the year.

2. Speaking of sunnies the mirrored lens has suddenly become my favorite and my college budget as well. Blenders, my San Diego homies, provide the ultimate colorful, lightweight shade for more laid-back, yet trendy accessory.

3. Ethiopian beads? Hardware on my neck and draped on my fingers are subtle and silver, but Child of Wild's nickel ball beads scream culture at it's finest. The California collector has the chicest jewels spotted all throughout that Coachella goodness and the recently launched website is to die for. Her originals finds may be from all over the world, but the Ethiopian beads, Navajo turquoise and Turkish collars bring alive the societal differences the West welcomes.

And in a nutshell, along with my South Beach neon green hot pants, Zara shoes and floral coverup, that is west for ya. Although, wardrobe style schizophrenia will emerge and in a matter of 24 hours I'll go bells, boots and beanies.
